To save a PDF copy of a tax return, TSG must first be configured to use an external viewer for PDFs. Then when a return is opened in Adobe Reader a copy may be saved. Note: These instructions require the latest version of Adobe Reader to be installed.
Step 1 – Configure TSG to use an external PDF reader:

Note: These steps must be performed on all workstations.

- Log in to TSG as a user with the appropriate rights.
- From the main menu, select Setup and click Printer Setup. The Applications Settings window will open.
- Click the Print Options tab.
- In the Path field, enter a path to a folder that is accessible to all users (it is recommended to use the TSG installation directory).
- In the PDF Printing Options section, place a check in the Use External PDF Reader checkbox.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Step 2 – Creating a PDF copy of a tax return:
- Open a tax return to be saved as a PDF.
- From the main menu, select Print and click Final Tax Return. The Print Final Return window will open.
- Click the PDF button. The tax return will open in Adobe Reader.
- From the Main Menu in Adobe Reader, select File->Save As->PDF. The Save As dialog will open.
- Browse to the location to save the PDF copy of the return.
- Optionally, in the File name field, enter a new name for the PDF file.
- Click Save to save a PDF copy of the tax return.
